Mr Murali Pillai: To ask the Minister for Transport whether he can provide an update of his Ministry’s plans to build cycling paths at Bukit Batok SMC.

Mr S Iswaran: The Government remains committed to tripling our cycling paths to around 1,300 kilometres by 2030, under the Islandwide Cycling Network programme. This will provide our towns, including Bukit Batok, with a wider active mobility network to support the uptake of active mobility in a way that is safe and convenient for all path users.

For Bukit Batok, LTA aims to provide better connectivity to transport nodes such as Bukit Batok MRT station and the future Jurong Region Line Bukit Batok West MRT station, and amenities such as West Mall and Bukit Batok West Shopping Centre.

More details will be shared when confirmed. LTA targets to call an engineering consultancy study by the end of this year to develop and evaluate the planned cycling paths in the Western region of Singapore, including Bukit Batok.
